São Luiz is full of amazing pictures just waiting to be captured and this tour has been designed with the photographer in mind, at a pace that allows enough time for you to position yourself to shoot those perfect images. There are 2 tour options for you to choose from, either cultural or natural. In both cases we have planned our routes to include the most interesting, strategic, and photographable spots in São Luiz.
Cultural Tour:
Historic São Luiz is a living museum. On this tour, you will travel its alleys, streets, and squares full of well-preserved 17th, 18th, and 19th century fountains, churches, and mansions, focusing your camera on the impressive array of Portuguese, French, and Dutch architectural details - rooftops, balconies, doorways, windows, tiles - and so much more. Highlights include: Historic Downtown, D. Pedro II Square, Ribeirão Fountain, Artur Azevedo Theater, the Church of Our Lady of Carmel, Central Market, Fish Market, Praia Grande, Beira Mar Avenue, Jansen Muller, Rio Branco and Hortas Streets, Deodoro and Gonçalves Dias Square.

The island city of São Luiz boasts a fantastic waterfront, giving it a romantic atmosphere that has inspired many artists. On this tour, you will discover the gorgeous natural beauty of its rivers, mangroves, lagoons, and beaches. Highlights include: Beira Mar Avenue, São Francisco Bridge, Jansen lagoon, Ponta d´Areia beach, Calhau beach, São Marcos beach and Araçagi beach, where the participants will be taken to visit the lighthouse, if it is open.

Participant guidelines
Participants are advised to wear:
- Pants or bermudas in synthetic material (supplex or tac-tel).
- Short sleeve dry shirt made with material that allows quick drying and good ventilation.
- Sun blocker (at least SPF 30) - essential.
- Sun glasses - essential

São Luiz has only one season: summer, divided into hot and dry summer from July to December, and hot and rainy summer from January to June. The months with a higher incidence of rain are March and April. The average temperature is 31° C.
